Care Instructions
- Serving to starve the charcoal of oxygen (NB: air vents should be closed too) returning it to its original form in 10-15 minutes, the Extinguishing Lid also ensures that your Shichirin always looks tidy while not in use
- Ensure that the grill mesh is removed when the lid is extinguishing the charcoal. It can be placed on top of the mesh for storage, once the coal is fully extinguished.
- Be aware that the steel surface will get hot, so ensure you use the bamboo handle and don't touch the lid surface until the charcoal has cooled and fully extinguished
- Using this method is extremely economical and makes re-lighting the binchotan easier
- Wash by hand with warm, soapy water
- Dry both lid and bamboo handle thoroughly
- Don't store in damp/humid environments
